Zimbabwe International Edward Sigauke signs at with Harlequins

Harlequins are thrilled to announce the signing of Zimbabwe international winger Edward Sigauke ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Sigauke, who made his international debut for Zimbabwe in 2024, has gone on to earn 12 caps for his country, crossing the whitewash on eight occasions. He was a key member of the Zimbabwe squad that lifted back-to-back Africa Cup titles, underlining his pedigree on the continental stage.

A product of Lomagundi College, Sigauke went on to represent Emeris University, where his performances helped fire the side to Varsity Shield glory in 2025. His electric pace, elusive footwork, and try-scoring instincts have marked him out as one of the most exciting young wingers to emerge from Zimbabwean rugby in recent years.

Head Coach Jason Gilmore said: "Eddie is a player we've been tracking, and we're really pleased to get his signing over the line. He's got tremendous speed and footwork that makes him a real handful for any defence, and we believe he's got all the raw tools to become a weapon for us out wide.

“What excites us most is his potential - he's still developing as a player, and we can't wait to see how he grows within our environment as he takes the next steps in his career."

Speaking on his move to The Stoop, Sigauke said: "I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to join Harlequins and everything that comes with it. I can't wait to get started, to push myself, and both as a player and person within this squad.

"Adding value to the jersey means a lot to me - it's not just about my own performance, it's about contributing to something bigger and helping the team achieve what we're capable of. I've spent time speaking with Gilly (Jason Gilmore) and I'm really bought into the brand of rugby he's wants to build - it's ambitious, it's exciting, and it's a style that suits how I want to play.

Sigauke will officially join up with his new teammates from 01 September ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
