Rasta Rasivhenge

3rd Jan 1986 1.69m/68kg Referee

Rasta is one of the best-known referees in the world because of his refereeing in so many parts of the world on the Sevens circuit on which he has refereed 16 finals.

In October 2015, he became the youngest referee to referee the Currie Cup Final. In November of the same year, he refereed two matches in France, one in Pro D2 and one in the Top 14.

The year 2016 saw him become a Super Rugby referee for the first time and taking charge of his first Test and went off as one of five South African referees to referee at the Olympic Games, the first time that Sevens rugby featured at the Olympics.

He was honoured with the World Rugby Referee Award in November 2016.

Having refereed over 250 Sevens games, Rasta was set to make his last World Rugby Sevens Series appearance at the 2018 Cape Town Sevens tournament, after he decided to turn his full attention to refereeing in fifteens from the start of the 2019 season.
