Nicknamed the Scrum "doctor" Mike Cron's rugby coaching career has spanned 33 years and taken him to 15 countries.

He has been a New Zealand Rugby resource coach since 2004, working with the All Blacks as well as New Zealand's other national teams, Super Rugby sides, provincial and academy teams, and numerous amateur club and schoolboy teams.

In 2012 he was promoted to the All Blacks forward coach until 2017.

Cron is recognised as one of the most innovative and respected coaches in the world and in May 2017 New Zealand Rugby announced that Cron signed a two-year extension which will see him working with the All Black in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

In June 2019, nearly two decades with the All Blacks during his 37-year coaching career, the ''scrum doctor'' announced that he would leave the side after the 2019 Rugby World Cup to focus on mentoring younger coaches and up-and-coming players.
