Paolo Garbisi, born on April 26, 2000, is an Italian professional rugby union player who primarily plays as a fly-half for Montpellier in the Top 14. He has also represented Italy at the international level, making his test debut against Ireland during the 2020 Six Nations Championship.

Garbisi has previously played for clubs such as Mogliano, Petrarca, and Benetton.

Garbisi began his rugby career at Mogliano before joining the FIR academy for the 2018-19 season. He showcased his talent and skills, which led to him being signed as a permit player by Benetton for the last matches of the 2019-20 season and the entire 2020-21 season.

This move allowed him to gain valuable experience playing at a higher level alongside some of his under-20 teammates who were part of the successful Italian generation.

In terms of international representation, Garbisi has been involved in the Italian national teams at the under-17 and under-18 levels. He played a role in a surprise victory against England while representing the Italian U18 team. Garbisi was named in the Italy Under-20 squad for both the 2019 and 2020 Six Nations Under 20s Championship and featured in the 2019 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.

Garbisi's impressive performances caught the attention of the senior national team selectors, and he was selected for the Italy squad for the first time in July 2020 for a training camp under coach Franco Smith.

From October 2020, he became a regular member of the Italy squad. One of his notable moments came in Italy's final match of the 2022 Six Nations Championship against Wales, where he scored the winning conversion to secure Italy's first Six Nations victory since 2015 with a 22-21 scoreline.

Described as a fly-half with intelligence both on and off the pitch, Garbisi is known for his rugby acumen and decision-making abilities. In addition to his rugby career, he is also a law student. Despite his young age, Garbisi has already made significant strides in his professional rugby career, and his performances indicate a promising future in the sport.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Garbisi has been named in the squad for Italy.
