The Ospreys hosted the Lions in a URC Round 10 clash after a two-week break for the Champions and Challenge Cup. They played to a 24-all draw with the Lions failing to clinch the victory when Davids knocked on the ball in the 84th minute behind the Ospreys try line.
The Lions were the first to score just before the 10-minute mark to clinch the victory when Francke Horn jotted it down in the corner. Ratti responded almost 15 minutes later with a pickup and go. Shortly after Ospreys skipper Lake received a yellow card but this did not put them at a disadvantage as they went on to score a few minutes later.
Both teams scored 1 more try before the halftime whistle. They went into the break with Ospreys leading 19 – 12.
The Lions were the first to strike after the break, after Botha peeled away from the maul to score. The Ospreys suffered a yellow card, and the Lions added another one through Quan Hone.
It was a back-and-forth game, with the Ospreys missing a drop goal and a penalty in the dying moments of the game, which would have won them the game. Angle Davids also knocked the ball on in Ospreys try line on the 84th minute, he will beat himself up for that miss.
The game ended all square at 24-all.
The Lions travel back to South Africa next week to face the Bulls and Ospreys host the Dragons at home.
