Gloucester Rugby name team to chase playoff spot

The Gloucester Rugby squad to play Northampton Saints at Kingsholm tomorrow in the final regular fixture of the 2024/25 Gallagher Premiership season has been revealed.

A win, and other results falling in their favour, could secure the Cherry & Whites a first play-off spot since 2019, in what's sure to be a thrilling encounter to end the season at 'Holm against the reigning champions.

In just two changes to the starting XV that defeated Newcastle Falcons on the road a fortnight ago, Afo Fasogbon and Jack Clement return in the pack.

The backline is unchanged, with the departing quartet of Santi Carreras, Christian Wade, Chris Harris and Gareth Anscombe set to play for final time in Cherry & White.

Young Jack Cotgreave starts alongside Carreras and Wade in the back three, having scored a try in his first Gallagher Premiership start last time out. Player of the Match in that fixture, Seb Atkinson, lines up alongside Harris in midfield, with Lions tourist, Tomos Williams, completing the backline.

Up front, Ciaran Knight makes his 101st Club appearance alongside Jack Singleton and Fasogbon in the front row, with Freddie Clarke and Arthur Clark packing down behind them.

Jack Clement returns after missing the Newcastle fixture through illness to join Ruan Ackermann and captain, Lewis Ludlow, in the back row.

Centurions Clarke and Ackermann, will also head for pastures new at the end of the season.

On the bench, Seb Blake, Jamal Ford-Robinson and Kirill Gotovtsev, after the latter signed a fresh deal at Kingsholm this week for the 2025/26 season.

Cam Jordan and Freddie Thomas also wait in the wings for the forwards, with Caolan Englefield, Will Butler and George Barton covering the backs.
