What Rassie Erasmus learnt from the win over Argentina

The Springboks limped to a 10-17 win over Argentina in Buenos Aires. There were few shining lights for the visitors as Rassie Erasmus and the coaches prepare the side for four tests against the All Blacks in Rugby's Greatest Rivalry Tour. 

The Springboks need another game before the All Blacks:

The Boks could use another game before they welcome the All Blacks in the opening test iof the RGR. They looked rusty with the bench pulling things together and despite the game mostly made up of returning from injury players and some fringe players they were lacking game time.

Back Three Composition:

The Springboks need to look at how they will build their loose trio with Siya Kolisi likely to miss the opening game at least with a hamstring injury. Paul de Villiers and Marco van Staden the obvious front runners to start but they could change things up.

Accuracy with their kicks need work:

While there was a wind that affected the game in Buenos Aires the Springboks were exceptionally poor with their kicks from hand. Reinach, Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Fassi and vd Berg all need to be more accurate.

Lock Stocks:

Both Etzebeth and de Jager got through a lot of unseen work and kept the engine going. Erasmus and the other coaches will be happy their locks got through the game after the South Africans suffered a mini lock crisis in previous games.

Grobbelaar set to wear #16:

Johan Grobbelaar will likely be the second choice hooker for thr Boks with Malcolm Marx playing a bulk of the minutes against the All Blacks.
