Alex Samuel is a promising Scottish rugby union player who currently represents Glasgow Warriors. He primarily plays as a second-row forward and has showcased his skills and potential both at the club level and in the international arena.

Samuel began his rugby journey at St Leonards School in St. Andrews before moving on to Madras College. He played for Madras College FP and developed his game further during his time in the Scottish Rugby Academy aligned to Stirling Wolves in the Super 6 competition.

In 2020, Samuel joined Glasgow Warriors initially as part of the Scottish Rugby Academy before earning a permanent contract with the club. His physicality, work-rate, and impressive performances caught the attention of coaches and fans alike. Glasgow Warriors' Head Coach at the time, Danny Wilson, highlighted Samuel as one to watch during a supporters event in 2020.

Samuel also gained valuable experience playing for the Ayrshire Bulls under the guidance of assistant coach Pete Horne in the FOSROC Super6 Sprint Series. His powerful ball-carrying ability and proficiency in the set-piece make him a valuable asset on the field.

In terms of his international career, Samuel captained the Scotland U20 side in 2021, demonstrating his leadership qualities and rugby acumen. He was invited to train with the senior Scotland squad during the 2021 Guinness Six Nations, showcasing his potential for a future call-up to the national team.

In terms of his club career, Samuel made his debut for Glasgow Warriors in September 2022 as a replacement against the Ayrshire Bulls. He made his competitive debut for the club later that year against Benetton Rugby in the United Rugby Championship, making an impact as one of the youngest players to play in the second row for the club.
