Huw Jones is a utility back who returned to the Glasgow Warriors in the summer of 2022 after spending a year with Harlequins. His first stint with the Warriors began in December 2017 when he joined from South African side Western Province Stormers.

During his initial spell with Glasgow, Jones made 49 appearances and scored 12 tries under coaches Dave Rennie and Danny Wilson. He made his debut for the club against Montpellier. Prior to joining Glasgow, Jones played for Western Province in South Africa and had a memorable farewell in the 2017 Currie Cup final, where he scored two tries and was named Man of the Match in their victory.

Jones made his Scotland debut in 2016, coming off the bench against Japan, and later earned his first start against Australia, scoring two tries in the match. He also scored a brace in Scotland's historic 25-13 victory over England in the 2018 Six Nations, helping his team secure their first Calcutta Cup win in ten years.

Born in Edinburgh and raised in England, Jones caught the eye of Western Province while studying at the University of Cape Town. He made nine appearances for UCT in 2014, including the Varsity Cup final, where his team emerged victorious. His performance led to a call-up to the Western Province Vodacom Cup side, and he eventually joined the Stormers' Super Rugby squad for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Jones was known for his try-scoring ability, including a game where he became the first Stormer to score four tries in a single Super Rugby match.

In 2016, Jones had a surprise call-up to tour with Scotland for their test matches in Japan. He made his first Test start against Australia in the Autumn International and was named man-of-the-match for his two first-half tries. He continued to impress in subsequent matches but suffered an injury while setting up a try against Argentina.

Jones signed a two-year deal with the Glasgow Warriors in February 2017, leaving the Stormers at the end of the Super Rugby season. He scored 25 points in 23 Super Rugby caps. In the 2017 and 2018 Six Nations Championships, Jones was a consistent starter for Scotland and scored additional tries in matches against England and France.

In December 2018, Jones extended his contract with Glasgow Warriors until the end of the 2020/21 season. However, his 2019 Six Nations campaign was cut short due to injury. After being initially left out of Scotland's 2019 Rugby World Cup squad, he was recalled for the 2020 Six Nations Championship.

In July 2021, Jones signed with Harlequins, but he returned to the Glasgow Warriors the following year.

Jones has been selected to play for Scotland ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023.
