Mark Irish

A former U21 England prop, Mark Irish joined Gloucester from amateur club Bridgwater but failed to play a first team game and was released at the end of the 2003-04 season.

As a player Irish played his formative rugby for Bridgwater & Albion and then had a season with Gloucester before moving to Bristol in 2004.

He went on to sign for Bristol in 2005 where he become a stalwart of the making 146 first team appearances in an eight-year tenure with Bristol, before joining London Scottish in 2012.

Upon retirement he moved into a coaching role with Hartpury College where he coached the AASE league winning Under 18s side, as well as working with the National One senior team.

He re-joined Bristol five years ago as Academy Forwards Coach and has combined that role with his first team Scrum Coach duties since 2018.

Since 2018, Irish has combined the first team scrum coach role with the Academy forwards coach role at Bristol and helped the side regain promotion under Pat Lam.

Irish has also been England Students Assistant Coach having previously represented the side as a player.

In May 2020, Worcester Warriors announced that Irish would join a new-look and exciting coaching team at Sixways for the 2020/21 season.
