Marvin Orie (born 15 February 1993) is a South African rugby union player who currently represents the South Africa national team, the Stormers in the United Rugby Championship, and Western Province in the Currie Cup. He is primarily known for his expertise as a lock.

Born in Cape Town, Orie attended Tygerberg High School, where he began his rugby journey. He represented Western Province up until the Under-18 level before signing with the Bulls for the 2011 season. His impressive performances for the Bulls U19 and Vodacom teams earned him a call-up for the 2012 Junior World Championships, where the South African U20 team emerged as champions.

In July 2016, Orie joined the Bulls and made eight appearances for the side. Following his stint with the Bulls, he made the move to Johannesburg to join the Lions. In his first season with the Lions, he primarily featured in Super Rugby matches but also played regularly in the Currie Cup. His consistent performances earned him increased playing time during the 2018 Super Rugby season.

Orie's excellent form caught the attention of national selectors, leading to his inclusion in Rassie Erasmus' first Springbok squad for the June Internationals against Wales and England in 2018. He entered the 2018 Rugby Championship with one test cap and eventually accumulated three test caps by the end of 2019. However, he narrowly missed out on selection for the Rugby World Cup.

More recently, Orie has been included in the Springboks' squad to prepare for tests against Georgia and the British & Irish Lions. His selection reflects his continued contribution and potential as a lock for the national team.

Marvin Orie's skill set and experience make him a valuable asset for both the Stormers and Western Province in domestic competitions, as well as a formidable presence in the South African national team's forward pack.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Orie has been named in the South African training squad.
