Making his senior debut for the Leopards in 2007 Vodacom Cup, Bondesio went on to represent the franchise in the Currie Cup and spent four years with the province. 2011 saw the scrumhalf move to the Lions for his first taste of Super Rugby and went on to win the Currie Cup in the same year. Still contracted to the Lions, Bondesio helped the Lions secure Super Rugby status for 2014.
