After five years at Racing 92, indications are that Ireland international second-row Donnacha Ryan will not be returning to the French Top 14 club, however, the 37 year-old seems set to join up with Ronan O’Gara’s coaching team at La Rochelle, according to a report in rte.ie.
Racing’s owner, Jacky Lorenzetti, recently told RMC Sport:
"François Trinh-Duc will play in Bordeaux for a year, Donnacha Ryan is joining La Rochelle as a coach, Antonie Claassen will be a player-coach at Suresnes, Dominici Bird has unfortunately returned to New Zealand for personal reasons."
O’Gara and Ryan were teammates at Munster for a number of years. Their combination in the coaching roles will be followed with interest.
