Saracens retain the services of England prop - report

Saracens have succeeded in keeping England and Lions prop Mako Vunipola on their payroll with the loosehead prop committing his future to the club according to a report in the Telegraph.

This means that the side set to be relegated at the end of the season will hold onto the likes of Vunipola brothers, Itoje, Owen Farrell, Jamie George and Elliot Daly in spite of their drop into the Championship next season.

The sextet are believed to have signed long-term deals which will mean only 75 per cent of their wages will count towards the new salary cap which starts in 2021-22 with the club hoping to return to the Premiership by then.

A number of the club's stars have departed the club with Liam Williams returning to Wales, Titi Lamositele and Will Skelton heading to France, George Kruis heading to Japan and the likes of  Alex Lozowski, Ben Earl, Max Malins and Nick Isiekwe have joined other clubs on loan.
