The selection of Jack Nowell for his first Test start on England’s left wing is likely to have posed the most questions for Ireland’s brains trust for tomorrow’s encounter in Dublin.

Jonny May, the Gloucester wing who lost his place to the Exeter man in Stuart Lancaster’s first form-based change in this Six Nations, would have been firmly in the crosshairs of Ireland’s fly-half Jonathan Sexton, but Nowell is a different story.
