Strong Argentine squad named for French test

Argentina head coach Mario Ledesma has named a strong side to take on France in their opening Rugby World Cup match on Saturday.

Pablo Matera leads the side in the six jersey and is accompanied by youngster Marcos Kremer and Javier Ortega Desio.

Former captain Agustin Creevy packs down the middle of the front row and is flanked by Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro and Saracen Juan Figallo.

Guido Petti and Tomas Lavanni continue their partnership in the engine room with Matias Alemmanno providing cover on the bench.

In the backs, 2015 Rugby World Cup top scorer Nicolas Sanchez starts in the #10 jumper with Tomas Cubelli is halfback partner.



Jeronimo de la Fuente and Matias Orland make up the midfield with Emiliano Boffelli, Matias Moroni and Ramiro Moyano completing the backline.

There is plenty of experience on the bench in Julian Montoya, Tomas Lezana, Felipe Ezcurra and Benjamin Urdapilleta.
