Six Nations: Italy team to face Ireland

Italy coach Conor O'Shea has made 3 changes to his starting to face Ireland.

The backline remains unchanged while Luca Bigi comes into the starting lineup in place of Leonardo Ghiraldini - who drops to the bench.

Six Nations: Schmidt makes four changes to face Italy


Joe Schmidt has named his Ireland squad for Saturday's Six Nations clash with Italy at the Aviva.


The squad sees Leavy come in for the injured Josh van der Flier while Cian Healy and CJ Stander revert to the bench.

James Ryan has been dropped out of the matchday 23 after picking up a slight knock at the Stade de France.

Peter Grant is returning to the Force.

Former Western Force and international backs Peter Grant and Marcel Brache are the first two players to commit to a new era of WA rugby.

 

Former springbok fly-half Grant and USA outside back Brache will lead the new Force into the National Rugby Championship.

 

They are also likely to be in the mix for the Indo Pacific Rugby Championship squad when that kicks off in March next year. Read more

 

Six Nations: Scotland make six changes to play France

Scotland

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has made six changes to his starting side for Sunday’s Six Nations game against France at Murrayfield.

The changes are split evenly between the backs and forwards with scrum-half Greig Laidlaw, wing Sean Maitland and centre Pete Horne promoted from the bench into the back-line, while lock Grant Gilchrist and back-row Ryan Wilson do likewise into the pack.

Danny Care (Harlequins) starts at half back and will become England’s most capped scrum half (78), moving past 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson.
 
Jonathan Joseph (Bath Rugby) comes in for Ben Te’o (Worcester Warriors) at outside centre. 

Glenn Moore re-appointed as Black Ferns Head Coach

Women’s World Cup-winning Head Coach Glenn Moore will continue his role with the Black Ferns in 2018 and 2019, New Zealand Rugby announced today.


Moore has an enviable record with the team since his appointment at the end of 2015, with 15 wins and just one loss from 16 Test matches and a 2017 World Cup win.
