Vea spent three seasons with North Harbour before moving to England to sign for Wasps ahead of the 2013-14 season.
Spells with London Welsh followed the next season where his ambition saw him land at Newcastle Falcons for the 2015-16.
In October 2016, Vea was forced to retire from rugby as a result of the spinal injury he suffered in the Premiership opener against Sale Sharks on September 2.
He hung his boots after 22 competitive appearances for the club, with six caps for Tonga.
