Born in Westville, South Africa, Sharman is a dynamic hooker who has spent time in both Super Rugby and the English Premiership. Having attended Pretoria Boys High School, Sharman graduated in 2005 and took up a contract with the Blue Bulls later that year. Having helped the Blue Bulls to the Vodacom Cup title, Sharman joined English side Northampton Saints in 2009. Three years and 67 appearances later, Sharman linked up with Bath.
