Casey Laulala

3rd May 1982 1.86m/101kg Outside Centre

An exciting outside centre with a particularly good step, Laulala was long regarded as one of Europe’s most talented centres when he swapped Canterbury for Cardiff in 2009.

Canterbury will forever be indebted to Laulala as he famously scored the winning try to hand them the 2006 Super 14 title.

Subsequent to scoring the 2006 Super 14 title winning try, Laulala was named in New Zealand’s squad for a test match against Ireland, which he played in and won his second All Blacks cap.

Laulala won 4 NPC titles with Canterbury and 3 Super Rugby titles with the Crusaders between 2000 and 2010 before heading overseas to further his playing career in France and Wales.

He made 55 appearances for Racing 92 between 2014-2018 before retiring.

In July 2021, Laulala joined the Canterbury coaching group on a one-year deal.
