Clayton Anthony Blommetjies, born on 30 August 1990 in Paarl, South Africa, is a highly skilled South African rugby union player who currently represents the Stormers in the United Rugby Championship and Western Province in the Currie Cup. Blommetjies primarily plays as a fullback or wing, showcasing his versatility on the field.
Blommetjies' rugby journey began during his schooling years at New Orleans S.S.S., where he honed his skills and developed a passion for the sport. He kicked off his youth career with the Boland Cavaliers from 2006 to 2008 before making the move to the prestigious Blue Bulls in 2009. During his time with the Blue Bulls, Blommetjies displayed exceptional talent, representing the team from 2009 to 2011.
Blommetjies' professional rugby career continued to flourish as he made a significant impact on the rugby scene. He made a total of 26 appearances in the Vodacom Cup and made his Currie Cup debut in 2012, showcasing his abilities in the opening match of the Currie Cup Premier Division against Griquas.
Blommetjies' dedication and commitment to the sport led him to sign a deal with the Free State Cheetahs, based in Bloemfontein, starting from 1 August 2014. During his tenure with the Cheetahs, he demonstrated remarkable skill and contributed to the team's success.
