Schooled in the Eastern Cape, Davis headed to the Blue Bulls where he played loose forward in the U19 Currie Cup in 2009 and the U21 Currie Cup in 2010 and 2011. Returning to the Eastern Cape in 2013, Dalton debuted in the Vodacom Cup against Western Province and went on to represent both the EP Kings and Griquas in the Currie Cup. Davis is now contracted to L'Aquila for the 2013/2014 season.
