The Portadown man is a member of the Ulster Academy. He has represented Ireland at U20 level in 2014. Made his debut for Ulster against Zebre in the Pro 12 in February 2017.
At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Busby has made two appearances for Ulster, with one try to his name.
Busby, who plays his club rugby with Ballynahinch helped them to success in the All Ireland League as they won Division 1B and promotion to the top flight in 2019.
He featured for Ulster against Leinster later that year and featured for the side for the first time almost a year on from his previous appearance after suffering a serious knee injury.
At the end of the 2018/19 season, Busby left Ulster.
