Dean Budd is a physically very strong individual originally from the rugby haven New Zealand. He was born in Whangarei (New Zealand) July 31, 1986.

He loves to run with the ball in hand a fierce defender. Budd played in the Provincial Championship New Zealand NPC with the shirt of Northland, while also training with the Auckland Blues in the Super Rugby. A

lso suitable as a second row, Budd is a good jumper and is famous for his fancy offloads. He comes from the NEC Green Rockets, a team of Japanese Championship before joining Benetton.

Budd arrived in Italy in the season 2012/2013 from the Japanese club NEC Green Rockets. Having spent 5 years at the club, Budd has won 85 caps to date.

In April 2017, Budd signed a contract renewal with Treviso for the 2017/18 season and beyond.

Treviso Head Coach Kieran Crowley named Budd as captain for the 2017-18 season. Budd has won 88 caps for the club over a five-year reign.

Budd featured in 16 of Treviso's 22 matches by January 2018 and was included in Italy's 2018 6 Nations squad.

In July 2018, after 103 appearances for Treviso, Budd was named captain of the side for the second consecutive year.
