Duane Goodfield

Beddau born, and a former pupil at Ysgol Gyfun Rhydyfelin, Duane Goodfield came up through the ranks at Pontypridd and Cardiff Blues Academy.

He also spent some time with Llanelli whilst studying at Dyfed College but returned to play for Pontypridd in the Welsh Premiership.

Duane gained international honours through all youth levels and became a key member, and captain of Wales under 21 team

Whilst playing his club rugby for Pontypridd, Duane was drafted in to the Blues senior regional team, making a number of appearances in the Celtic League and Powergen Cup during the 2006 - 2007 season.

He retired at the end of the 2010-11 season after several shoulder surgeries.

He has since moved into coaching having worked in the Welsh Rugby Union as a Development Officer between 2014 and 2018.

He currently works as the Cardiff Blues scrum coach.
