Ethan Roots, a talented rugby union player from New Zealand, is currently associated with the Ospreys. Primarily playing as a flanker, Roots began his professional career with the Crusaders in 2020 before making the move to Ospreys in July 2021.

The Exeter Chiefs announced on April 3, 2023, that Roots would be joining their team for the 2023-24 season.

Roots caught the attention of the Crusaders after an impressive debut season in the Mitre 10 Cup for North Harbour in 2019. Prior to his professional career, he represented East Coast Bays and was part of the club side that secured the senior championship title in 2019.

Known for his strength and tenacity, Roots offers versatility as a loose forward and lock, contributing to the already formidable Crusaders loose forward ranks.

In addition to his rugby achievements, Roots has also represented New Zealand as a teenage Jiu Jitsu practitioner. His dedication to multiple disciplines showcases his athleticism and commitment to personal development.
