German Kessler is a hooker who was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay.
In 2014, he was called by the Uruguayan U20 national team to compete at the 2014 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy, having outstanding performances and helping the team finish 4th.
In 2015 he was named in Uruguay's squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
In 2019, Kessler signed for French Pro D2 team Soyaux-Angoulême where he spent two seasons (2019-2021) making 27 appearances and scoring 6 tries.
Following his stint at Soyaux-Angoulême, the Uruguayan international signed for Provence Rugby in 2021. In his first season, he played 21 matches, starting 14 and scoring 3 tries.
He went on to player another 22 games in his 22/23 season, scoring 4 tries for Provence Rugby.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023,Kessler has been named in the squad for Uruguay.
