Hapakuki was selected for the NZ U20 Development camp in Palmerston North on November 27.
He represents New Zealand in the 2016 World Rugby Under 20 Championship where he went on to then represent North Harbour in the Mitre 10 Cup
He signed a contract to play in Japan and left North Harbour ahead of the 2019 season
