Born in Johannesburg, Miller was schooled at Kearsney College in KZN. He played 2 years of 1st team rugby and went on to represent the Sharks side in Craven Week.
Qualifying for Scotland through his mother, Miller recently played Scotland U19 and was selected to play for Scotland U20 in the 2018 Junior World Championship
Spending 2017 in Stellenbosch at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport Rugby Institute he moved to Edinburgh to play for Watsonians RFC
