Jesse Kriel

15th Feb 1994 1.86m/98kg Outside Centre

Playing his school rugby at Maritzburg College, Kriel went on to represent the Sharks U18 and South African Schools team in 2012.

The fullback then signed for the Blue Bulls and represented the province in the Vodacom Cup before a call up to the South African U20s for the IRB Junior World Championship in 2013.

After a great season at full back for the Bulls in Super Rugby 2015, Kriel earned a call up into the Springbok RWC training squad and was surprisingly named at outside centre for the match against the World XV at Newlands.

He made a huge impact in the back line both on attack and defence. He was included in the Springboks RWC Squad later that year, scoring his first test try in the 44th minute of the match.

Kriel has scored 10 points in 31 Super Rugby caps since his debut in 2014.

Kriel has once again been called into the Springbok squad to face France in June. The youngster has already made 17 appearances for his country and has scored 3 tries

He featured in all but one of the Bulls Super Rugby matches scoring 5 tries, taking his totals to 45 caps and 7 tries.

Kriel established himself as the Springboks go-to man at outside centre for 2017 as he started 12 of South Africa's 13 tests in the position taking his test tally to 29.

Kriel heads into the 2018 Rugby Championship with 32 test caps.
