Final whistle sounds at the Stade Marcel Michelin and Clermont run out clear winners in what was always a one sided affair. Almost from the get go Clermont dominated both territory and possession which allowed them a platform on which to base their scintillating offence. A hatrick from man of the match, Gerhard Vosloo along with 2 tries a piece for Nakaitaci and Sivivatu contributed to the home side's very healthy tally of 55 points. Bayonne were unable to score a single point in return. There is no doubt who the superior team were here today as Clermont reinforce their position as one of the top teams in France. Thanks for following the coverage here with us this evening, we hope you enjoyed it. Until next time!

The game has become quite scrappy with the introduction of so many replacements. 3 minutes left now and it's just a matter of allowing the match to run it's course. Very little motivation or drive it appears in both teams

Ultimate Rugby Sep 9

That's 3 penalties in a row now for Bayonne and they continue to go to the corner in search a try and with it, some redemption. Still unable to cross however as simple mistakes have really let them down. Clermont have cleared their lines and are now back inside opposition half

Ultimate Rugby Sep 9

TRY CLERMONT. Sivivatu comes across from his right wing and there is simply nobody home! #h 9 feeds the kiwi who runs in from 10 metres out to score the easiest of tries. A poor defensive performance from Bayonne if nothing else. 55-0.

Ultimate Rugby Sep 9

Sivivatu's counter attacking always such a pleasure to watch! Runs 30 metres into the oppostion half before offloading to Paulo who is unable to maintain possession.

And the answer is nothing. Clermont steal the line out and boot it way down field

Ultimate Rugby Sep 9

Bayonne with some field position here, let's see what they can do with it. Line-out 5 metres from Clermont line

Ultimate Rugby Sep 9

TRY CLERMONT. Yet another carbon copy of the last try! A kick to the corner, line-out Clermont, maul from 5 metres, Vosloo grabs his 3rd! Now that is something I didn't think I'd be saying at the start of the match. LaCrampe takes over the kicking duties from the substituted James and does so with conviction. 48-0

TRY CLERMONT. Following the yellow card Clermont opted for the corner. A well constructed maul from 5 metres out was unstoppable for the opposition and Vosloo crossed the line to get his second try of the game

Jon Elissalde is yellowed carded for a cynical foul 5 metres from his own line. A blatant attempt to slow down play
