Peter Betham scrambles over the line from close range and Freddie Burns makes no mistakes with the conversion. 17-10
Leicester keep pressing and Ben Youngs whips the ball out to Peter Betham who scrambles over the line from close range. Touches down with one hand but no questions there.
Burns makes a good break but is stopped 10 metres out from the line.
Leicester win possession from that kick-off and Freddie Burns does well to release Vereniki Goneva who makes about 10 metres up to the 22'...
Freddie Burns gets us underway.
A compelling first half here from Welford road which sees the sides go in level, but it is Newcastle who will be happier with that score. It started well for Newcastle, however, as they took the lead through a Craig Willis penalty after Fraser Balmain was sent to the bin before they mauled over and Nili Latu got the first try of the game. It was all Leicester from there, however, as they hit back with a penalty and should have gotten their first try when Telusa Veainu was over but failed to ground the ball correctly. Newcastle lost both Agulla and Wilson to the bin before Veainu made up for his previous mistake by finishing in the corner. Leicester should have take the lead before half time after Matthew Tait made the exact same mistake as Veainu. Leicester have had many opportunities to point further points on the board but it would appear that individual greed has prevented them. Second-half to follow.
He has been pretty terrible, nothing wrong with either try
