Northampton secure a hard earned 22-20 victory against Harlequins at Franklins Gardens in what was a superb, fast paced encounter. With the scores tied at 17-17 at half time, it was still certainly all to play for coming into the second half. A yellow card for Matthews on the 60 minute mark gave Northampton the advantage they needed to press on for the 2 tries needed for the BP, and substitute Ratuniyarawa brought them halfway there when he crossed the whitewash. However, a superb defensive effort by Harlequins kept Northampton at bay as they struggled to cross their 22. The visitors eventually got their reward with a turnover to kill the game off and guarantee European rugby, despite the loss.
