A bruising encounter from start to finish, Toulon had the answers to everything Castres threw at them and ultimately the sheer power of this Toulon outfit proved the difference. The reigning champions are dethroned in the outskirts of the French capital, as Bernard Laporte's men made right the wrongs of last season's final when in reality they underestimated Castres.
