This game was won in the first half, with south Africa getting over for an early try courtesy of JP Pietersen. The boot of Handre Pollard added a further 11 points to give the South Africans a 16 point lead at half time which they were never going to relinquish. Argentina fought hard in the second half and were eventually rewarded with a last minute try. In truth however it was never going to be enough against a resolute South African side.
