5 Things we learned from the B&I Lions v Queensland Reds

Tommy Freeman scored twice as the British and Irish Lions ran in eight tries in a comprehensive victory over the Queensland Reds in Brisbane.

Here is five things we learned from this match

1.Jac Morgan MUST start in the tests.

The Welshman received the man of the match award after scoring a try, winning 3 turnovers, making 18/21 tackles and beating 1 defender.

2. Starting slow could be the downfall for the Lions

After 9 mins, the Lions were trailing 7-0. They cannot afford to start slow against Australia as the quality of the national won't give them any room to get back into the match.

3. The Lions need to fix the linenout mauls

The Lions tried numerious times to get a driving maul going but the Reds stopped them in their tracks. That is something Andy Farrell and his coaching staff would like to improve ahead of the test.

4. Australia could expose Duhan van der Merwe on defence.

The big Scottish winger will need to sharpen his defence. Against Argentina he made 1/2 tackles and against the Reds 3/5.

5.Elliot Daly is a Lions LEGEND

The England utility back came in last minute for this game as Hugo Keenan had to withdrew due to sickness. Daly have been involved in back to back 11 matches for the B&I Lions.

The British and Irish Lions take on the Waratahs this Saturday.
