Hassler to miss rest of the season

Ospreys' Jeff Hassler will have to miss the last three games of the season after having to go through surgery to repair a shoulder injury.

Hassler is anticipated to take full part in pre-season training, returning to the field ahead of the 2016/17 season.

"Jeff's had an ongoing shoulder problem that we had to manage since his return from the Rugby World Cup which, although it has not affected his rugby, it has impacted on aspects of his gym-based preparations," confirmed Chris Towers, Medical Performance Manager at the Ospreys.

Brad Thorn joins Reds coaching staff

After joining Queensland Rugby Union last year as a Development Squad forwards coach, the former All Blacks lock has acquired a new role as an assistant coach and will work more closely with the Super Rugby squad.

"Not all players make the transition to coaching very easily and we wanted to give Brad some time to adjust," said Queensland Rugby general manager Daniel Herbert.
