Andy Farrell and his team have taken a 0-1 lead in the three match test series against the Wallabies. A game that looked to get away from the hosts ultimately saw them fight back as the Lions dropped off the intensity in the same way we have seen them do so far this tour. Here are our Lions player ratings
- Ellis Genge - 8
He was his typical self with great carries in open play and a constant viable option that brought front foot ball - Dan Sheehan - 7
Some line out's that went astray but a good outing for the Irish hooker - Tadhg Furlong - 6
Fizzed a pass wide when needed but is still building to vinatge Furlong - Maro Itoje - 7
Lead his side well but will be worried at the drop off that let the Wallabies back in the game - Joe McCarthy - 7
Solid outing and is well suited to partner with Itoje - Tadhg Beirne - 9
Set the tone early with a breakdown penalty and had momentum swinging involvements all game - Tom Curry - 9
In running for MOTM too you feel. Superb effort in a position that is the most competitive in the Lions squad - Jack Conan - 8
Hardly ever lets his side down and worked well with the others in his loose trio - Jamison Gibson-Park - 8
Great box kicks that were accurate and a long pass that contributes to at least one try a game - Finn Russell - 8
No doubt that he is the premier 10 in the group, has incredible attacking instincts followed up with impressive defence - James Lowe - 7
Some shaky moments but it was clear his role was to chase kicks and tap back which was an effective play by the Lions - Sione Tuipulotu - 8
Had a good game, always involved - Huw Jones - 6
Better composure would have gifted the Lions two more tries - Tommy Freeman - 6
Good and bad with some of his good moments being overshadowed by a poor kick or error. Solid running option with ball in hand - Hugo Keenan - 6
Took some high balls well and linked decently but you want a liitle bit more - Ronan Kelleher - 6
