Bok prop set to reject overseas interest - reports

Springbok and Stormers prop Steven Kitshoff has been linked to a move to France and has been widely reported as a potential signing for Steve Diamond's Sale Sharks where he would link up with a number of South Africans including Robert du Preez, Faf de Klerk and others.

However, a report in an Afrikaans newspaper on Sunday suggests that he turn down offers on a potential move and extend his stay in Cape Town with the Stormers.

The powerful loosehead is one of the finest scrummagers in the game and has been heavily linked with a move to Sale Sharks but the according to Rapport newspaper, the Western Province Rugby Football Union is working hard behind the scenes to convince the red headed prop to stay in the Cape.

The union has brought in financial assistance from outside the union to try to win the battle for Kitshoff’s signature, a tactic that is reportedly being used to convince Handre Pollard to stay at the Bulls.

The loosehead prop is also believed to be one of the first-choice Springboks who will receive one of the highest paychecks from SA Rugby, R2.5-million as part of the new player contracting model.

The 27-year-old is expected to make a decision on his future next week.
