An entertaining little frolic but not much else.
In fairness this was never
going to be an easy game, a classic no-win scenario for England
after their heroics in Cardiff, but the fact that they conceded three tries
against a side as poor as Italy
– and, boy, they are a poor side – was evidence enough that the home side’s
energy and intensity levels were way below those needed and desired.
They did score six tries, however, with two
of them coming from Jonathan Joseph, both of which were crackers.
