Finn Russell on his way to Paris?

Scotland fly-half Finn Russell has been linked with a big money move to French heavyweights Racing 92 according to reports in the French media.

The 25-year-old's current contract with the Glasgow Warriors is set to expire at the end of the 2017-18 season and the well-respected French bi-weekly publication Midi-Olympique claims that the Parisians have made ''a firm offer''.

Midi say that Russell is an attractive option because ''he's less expensive'' than other established international fly-halves. The newspaper alleges that his salary in the region of €450k is a reasonable price for his playmaking abilities.

The 29-times capped Scotsman is said to be: ''interested by an adventure in France'' and his move would be a crushing blow to the SRU.

Midi report that current fly-half Dan Carter is expected to sign on with the club for at least another season. Racing owner Jacky Lorenzetti flexed his financial power in September with the signing of Springbok Pat Lambie on a three-year deal to bolster his back-line options.

Russell enjoyed a brief cameo with the British & Irish Lions as injury cover during the summer tour and the Warriors No. 10 has started the Guinness Pro14 campaign in record-breaking style.
