Former Ulster head coach Jono Gibbes joins La Rochelle

La Rochelle have confirmed that former Ulster Rugby head coach Jono Gibbes has agreed to join the Top 14 club as sporting director on a four-year deal.

The 41-year-old was promoted to the role of head coach at Kingspan Stadium in January following the departure of director of rugby Les Kiss. 

He spent just one season at Ulster before being granted an early release from his contract for family reasons.

The New Zealander will now take over at the Stade Marcel-Deflandre in November after he returns home for a brief stint with provincial side Waikato.
