France vs. Wales: Last Five Meetings

France vs. Wales: Last Five Meetings

The 2019 Six Nations begins in Paris this evening as Les Bleus host Wales at the Stade de France. Warren Gatland will be eager to right a few wrongs from their last visit to the French capital, when Wales succumbed to a 20-18 defeat with 100 minutes showing on the clock.

That win two years ago was the only French win in the last 7 meetings between the two sides and Wales had also won the two previous matches played in Paris.

After a successful Autumn period that yielded four wins from four, Wales come into the clash on a 9 game winning streak, including a win over Australia, which ended a 13 game losing record against the Southern Hemisphere powerhouse.

France endured a turbulent Autumn campaign losing to South Africa and Fiji and enter the tournament with an element of the unknown permeating around the squad. They have won 4 of their last 5 home games in the Six Nations and both of their matches when hosted on a Friday.

Tonight’s game will be the 97th meeting between France and Wales in all competitions and the Welsh will be looking to notch up a 50th win against Les Blues in this game.
