Glasgow Warriors eye Ben Healy

Glasgow Warriors eye Ben Healy

The departure of Danny Cipriani from Gloucester seems to be causing something of a knock-on effect as Adam Hastings now makes his way from Glasgow Warriors to the Cherry & Whites, leaving a significant void in the Scottish club’s fly-half channel which needs to be filled as soon as possible.

Reports indicate that Danny Wilson and co. have their sights set on talented young Munster fly-half Ben Healy.

The 21 year-old is currently still part of the Munster Academy set-up and, therefore, does not enjoy the type of lucrative contract that regular players in the senior side do. That could well change very soon as Munster will scramble to keep Healy at the club as it appears that a big future awaits him.

Interestingly, a move to Glasgow could be a very attractive one for Healy who, in fact, qualifies to play for Scotland due to family connections.

On that topic, Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend said:

"I am aware that he is Scottish-qualified. He has been impressive in his outings so far this year. Unfortunately, he has been a bit too good because he has played against Edinburgh and Glasgow, and had a big influence in those games."

Meanwhile, Munster’s head coach Johann van Graan said of Healy:

"He is a class individual, and hopefully he will stay at Munster."
