Hard luck! Another setback for Wallabies star who is ruled out for five months

Teenage sensation Jordan Petaia will miss the rest of the Super Rugby season with scans confirming the Wallabies' centre will need surgery on his dislocated shoulder.

Still aged 19 until his 20th birthday next month, Petaia featured at the Rugby World Cup in Japan for Australia earning his test debut at the tournament.

The damaging Queensland No. 13 missed Sunday's Round 3 clash with the Jaguares after hurting himself while attempting a tackle in training.

It is the second serious setback in as many seasons for the 19-year-old after a foot injury had ruined his 2019 campaign.

Since then he has played less than four matches in two seasons for the Reds with his a separate hamstring injury delaying his inevitable Wallabies debut.

A 20-week rehabilitation period ahead of him, his place in the side for July's Tests against Ireland is in serious doubt.
