Kerr-Barlow setback for Stade Rochelais
Stade Rochelais scrum-half Tawera Kerr-Barlow has announced that he is out of the Heineken Champions Cup final against Leinster Rugby on May 28 due to a hand injury.
The 31-year-old New Zealander, who has played in all of the French club’s Heineken Champions Cup games this season, had to be replaced in the 53rd minute of their 20-13 semi-final win over Racing 92 in Lens last Sunday with a broken bone in his left hand.
The ex-All Black told L’Equipe: “I’m going to be out for six weeks, so I won’t be playing in the European Cup final. Naturally, I am disappointed, but I can’t wait to watch the team play against Leinster.”
Kerr-Barlow’s confirmed absence on May 28 follows that of La Rochelle lock Will Skelton, who has a calf injury.
