Lions Stocks | How the Force game affects things
- 3970
While the team needs time in the saddle to get used to each other, systems and more after the two games played the fans and coaching staff are getting better idea's of a few things. Here is a look at the British and Irish Lions Player Stock Market following the Western Force win.
Stocks Rising:

Joe McCarthy - His man of the match performance puts him in the running for a start in the opening test. Industrious performance
Tadhg Beirne (Ollie Chessum & Maro Itoje) - Having a more orthodox blindside flanker thats a line out option is likely the way to go especially for the run on XV
Josh vd Flier - A different offering to Curry and Morgan but he has been there and done that, certainly in the running.
Tomos Williams - If Gibson-Park is unable to play (and Williams doesn't suffer long term to the hamstring injury) you feel he starts
Garry Ringrose - It is between Ringrose and Jones and the former showed today he is the front runner
Mack Hansen - While he had a poor game to start and some shaky moments all game but the how he bounced back and never gave up was something that earned a mention from Andy Farrell as a play of the day.
Elliot Daly - While starting the first test may not be on the cards, Andy Farrell would be silly not to have him in his 23. Like Ringrose he is a non stop worker, always in the right position, makes few errors and covers multiple positions well.
Stocks Falling:

Pierre Schoeman & Tadhg Furlong - Both struggled to make a bigger impact on the game as starters
Scott Cummings - Not a poor game but didn't announce himself as a potential starter
Sione Tuipulotu - While not a poor game, both the starting 12's haven't set the game on fire yet
Stocks Unmoved:
Dan Sheehan - He had a good first outing for the Lions
Henry Pollock - While showing the good and the bad of his game he maybe forced himself into the conversation for a bench spot if you go 6/2 or 7/1 against the Wallabies
Finn Russell - A good but not great performance, still the starting 10 on form though
James Lowe - Whether he or vd Merwe starts may still rest on tactics deployed as opposed to an outright front runner
