Lions Stocks | How the Reds game affects things

Over 100 points scored in two games on tour but Andy Farrell may have more questions than answers after this mid week game against the Queensland Reds. Plenty width to start was promising but some weaknesses exposed in the forwards and the backs. Here is how the Lions Stock Market looks

Stocks Rising:

Maro Itoje - Superb performance on both sides of the ball, 'a captains knock' to use a cricketing term

Jack Conan - Each year its a Lions tour Conan steps up, 2025 is no exception

Jack Morgan - Massive shift and one that could ous the other flanks leaving he and Josh vd Flier as front runners

Finn Russell - Tactics were perfectly suited to his style and he executed well.

Elliot Daly - Proving a valuable player and very likely to be in the test 23 IF his injury is not a serious one

Stocks Falling:

Will Stuart - Heavily penalised and not a great outing

Duhan vd Merwe - While he got out of a sticky situation well and is very good on attack, his defensive vulnerabilities are the biggest concern

Stocks Unmoved:

Andrew Porter - Penalised but offered something more than Stuart

Ronan Kelleher - Not making a big claim to be involved in the opening test

Ollie Chessum - Quiet game and not used at line out time for some reason

Tom Curry - Good game but not a standout player

Jamison Gibson-Park - Constant on the day and has played his first game after injury

Bundee Aki - Used in a 'non Bundee Aki' role to start but dominated when reverting back to his strength's

Huw Jones - Great on attack, good on defence, then 12 and 13 starters for the tests are going to be an intriguing sub plot

Tommy Freeman - Went looking for work, scored a brace and is a different player than Hansen, its hard to say who has the upper hand
