Bristol would get on the board with a late first half try to give themselves a glimmer of hope trailing 26-7 at the break. That hope was quickly snuffed out as the Sale Sharks crossed for two early second half tries to emphatically lead 40-7 with 26 minutes to play. With the match wrapped up, the game petered out in the final quarter, with neither side able to add to the scoreline. The victory sees the Sale Sharks leapfrog the Bristol Bears into second position in the table.
