Quins line up a world class replacement for Chris Robshaw

The Harlequins are on the hunt for a replacement for their long time captain Chris Robshaw, who announced last week that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The London-based club have now been linked with a sensational swoop for South Africa World Cup winner Pieter-Steph du Toit.

It was announced last week that former England captain Robshaw is set to leave the club at the end of the season and he is expected to join Major League Rugby outfit New York.

The Rugby Paper have reported that Quins are interested in signing du Toit, who was voted World Player of the Year after helping the Springboks lift the Webb Ellis Cup in 2019 and went on to claim the Springbok player of the year too.

However, the 27-year-old has another year left on his contract at the Stormers and seems unlikely to leave before the British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa in 2021.

If a deal for du Toit were to be signed, the Stormers would be compensated for the final year of his contract.
